Abida Khatoon is a distinguished library and information science professional with over two decades of experience in the field. After earning her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, in 2000, Abida began her career as a Project Assistant at the Prime Minister’s Office Library in 1999. Her pioneering work in modernizing the library’s operations through computerization laid the foundation for a career defined by innovation and excellence.
From 2005 to 2022, Abida served as a librarian at the same institution, where she was instrumental in enhancing library management and spearheading the digitization of manuscripts and rare books. Her dedication to preserving and making accessible valuable historical and cultural resources has been a hallmark of her career. In 2023, Abida furthered her commitment to lifelong learning by completing a preparatory year in Romanian language studies and is currently expanding her academic and professional horizons in Romania. Her career exemplifies a profound dedication to the transformative power of knowledge and its preservation.
