Emil Lawrence is an assistant professor of Library & Information Science in the School of Communication & Information at Rutgers University, where he works on issues arising at the intersection of library and information ethics, readers and reading, and aesthetics (especially as these pertain to structural inequities in book culture). He is also the Library Coordinator at the Pride Center of New Jersey. Lawrence received an MLS from the University of Maryland and a PhD in LIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
