Director of Information Policy and Federal Relations

Katherine Klosek serves as the Director of Information Policy and Federal Relations at the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). In this role, she spearheads the organization's public policy strategy and outreach efforts related to key information policy issues such as accessibility, balanced copyright, online speech, open internet access, and user data privacy. As the staff lead for ARL’s Advocacy and Public Policy Committee, Katherine works to engage ARL’s members in influencing and responding to significant legal and policy changes across legislative, administrative, and judicial arenas.
Prior to joining ARL in December 2020, Katherine served as director of the Center for Applied Public Research at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), where she was instrumental in the center’s launch.
