Sofia Slutskaya (she/her) is the Head of Resource Description at Emory University Woodruff Library. Over the years, Sofia has held a variety of positions in both public and technical services. Sofia’s research interests include staff training, inclusive and respectful cataloging practices, cataloging print and electronic materials, e-resource management, and e-book acquisitions. Sofia has presented nationally on incorporating Homosaurus into vendor-managed authority control workflows. She co-edited a book for ALA Core on training and development in technical services and co-authored chapters for ALA Core and ACRL on public and technical services collaborations. Sofia holds a Masters in Library and Information Science from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Ph.D. in Library Science from Moscow State Art and Cultural University.
