Librarians are professionals when it comes to organizing information, but not so much when it comes to organizing it for ourselves. This program dives into the work a committee of individuals took on to assess and revamp the onboarding processes at George Washington University with inclusivity and equity as the main priority. This onboarding committee also performs some of the core aspects of the onboarding process to keep the experience as consistent as possible for new employees. This program will detail the process for assessing your onboarding process as well as steps you can take to make it more equitable and inclusive of different identities.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will learn how to assess their onboarding process through surveys and interviews.
Participants will be able to describe what it means to have an equitable and inclusive onboarding process.
Participants will learn the importance of onboarding in employee retention and satisfaction.
