Echo Phillips is the Library Supervisor at the South Philadelphia Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia located within the Community Health and Literacy Center - a first-of-its-kind facility in Philadelphia for combining a Health Center, a primary care office of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a recreation center, and a public library all in the same facility. Echo has been a librarian for the Free Library of Philadelphia since 2018 where she enjoys providing friendly, safe spaces as well as access to resources for everyone who visits the library.
Prior to her career as a librarian, Echo worked for several medical textbook publishers around Philadelphia in their editorial departments as project manager/editor. Echo has been able to utilize her skills and knowledge from her time working in medical publishing to provide more health literacy services to the South Philadelphia community through curated library collections, programming, and partnerships with other health organizations in the city.
Echo earned her Master of Library and Information Sciences from Drexel University as well as her Master of English and Publishing from Rosemont College and her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from University of South Florida.
