Center for the Future of Learning and Work
Michael Hanegan is the Founder and Chief Research Officer of the Center for the Future of Learning and Work. He is an adjunct professor of AI and the Future of Learning and Work at Rose State College and the University of Central Oklahoma. He is the co-author (with Chris Rosser) of "Generative AI and Libraries: Claiming Our Place in the Center of a Shared Future" (https://alastore.ala.org/libgenAI), published by the American Library Association. His work explores the renegotiation of the connections between learning and work, how Generative AI presents accelerated opportunities and challenges to this inquiry, and how we cultivate and sustain human-centered approaches to our near future both in our area of influence and at scale.
His works expands across K-12 schools, higher education, the library ecosystem, and industry. He is currently working on a book about knowledge production, consumption, technology, and the development of wisdom in the Age of Intelligence.
He lives in Edmond, Oklahoma with his family, his dog, mountains of books and ideas, and the occasional attempt to solve all the world’s problems around a fire pit with his closest friends.
